Hey loves!
Since the padded muscle tee hit the streets, they hit in a BIG way! Consider them a sleek alternative to comfy chic. This boxier style adds a polish to my already growing statement tee collection.
JUST PATTERNS reached out to me to collab on their latest pattern drop and I am soooo glad they did! Introducing the CLAUDIA TANK. If you’re looking for a easy statement top, look no further.
I made this top using a great RAYON JERSEY from MOOD FABRICS…which has been in my stash for quite some time. I did the typical fabric addict thing…hoarding until I find the perfect pattern for the perfect fabric. SMH…lol!
Construction
This jersey knit is of an excellent quality with a fair amount of opacity. I did treat it carefully though. I serged all seams with the exception of the neckline. That I chose not to top-stitch leaving it to look more like a top and less like a tee.
For the hem, I fused light-weight interfacing to give it a hint of structure and to prevent puckering when I stitched. Here you can see how nice and smooth the hem lays. With the interfacing, I didn’t feel compelled to finish the edge.
I used the thinnest shoulder pads I could find as I already have fairly broad shoulders and bulkier pads would have been a bit too much.
I’m pretty impressed with myself for sticking with my pledge to make more tops to wear with jeans, since they’re my jam. You can see my SHAMEKA TOP and my SOLITUDE BLOUSE from previous posts.
Overall, this is a solid winner, so a big smoochie hug to JUST PATTERNS for gifting me this pattern.
