Hey y’all. So once was not enough with this pattern.
When Chalk & Notch reached out to me a few weeks ago to collab on a DIY project, I was so excited. I’d been eyeing this pattern for awhile because I’d seen so many great versions from other sewists.
You can see in my last post that I’ve already made this Page Hoodie as I wanted to give it a test run using a sweater knit already in my stash. There I paired the top with Hudson pant/joggers from True Bias.
But for this project, I immediately knew I wanted to make a sweater set. For this I used the most buttery soft viscose knit from Promenade Fine Fabrics in the color way, “Black Cherry”. This sweater knit was a dream to work with and made sewing the pattern easier because of its stability. It also has a slight nod to designer Marine Serre’s signature print.
Instead of joggers, I paired it both with jeans and a skirt (along with a vintage Gucci shoulder bag). For the skirt I used a vintage Simplicity pattern as my base only needing to alter the length and make it more form fitting. I think this is another “Quarantine Chic” style I’m going to love.
The Page pattern is so easy and quick to sew and it has many versions; short or long sleeve, cropped or waist length, hoodie or crew neck. My only alteration was to omit the drawstring hole. As with the previous version, I recommend a few techniques when sewing with sweater knits. You can find those here.
I am so appreciative of the team at Chalk & Notch and the Page Hoodie is now added to my TNT (Tried and True) pattern collection.
And I’m still going strong with the sewing color scheme. Of course my beloved neutrals with some rich merlot, burgundy and wine thrown in.
